Fun-Filled Week

We've been busy this week...as you probably have guessed. It's been a little over a week since our last entry. Our most exciting news was heading down to Charlotte to see the Elmo Live Show. Both kids were excellent. Ben enjoyed the lights and Abby LOVED seeing the characters and dancing along to the music. Thank you to Aunt Kate for helping out (since Daddy had a bad back and couldn't go). Abby enjoyed having Brock there too. Here's some of our favorite photos.

As everyone knows, I love to dress up the kids. I thought it was only fair that I joined in the fun. We were stopped a dozen times. Everyone loved the hats and wanted to know where to find them...if only I could crochet I could have a nice little business.

Ben continues to eat his cereal like a real champ. We'll be starting something new this week...what will it be?

We are glad that Daddy is feeling better and is able to play again. We enjoyed some beautiful weather this weekend. Abby was able to play in her new house that a neighbor had passed along to us!!! Gordy enjoyed it too!

Even though Thanksgiving isn't officially here, we've started thinking ahead to Christmas. This is a first for us...and not something we will always do, but our tree is almost up. We decided to purchase an artificial tree to have for those years we will be celebrating the holiday away from home (I must have a tree). Abby is a big helper..always ready to get involved. Ben is just cute whatever he's doing.

We cherish all we do as a family...

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Doug is on call Thursday, so we'll be eating our turkey early (Wed).

Snow White and Her Main Man

Hi Everyone,
I hope you've had a good week. We've been busy!

Mommy finished Ben's costume in time for trick-or-treating, but we weren't able to make it out on the big night. Abby started with a cold that morning :(
Ben wasn't going to miss out completely for his first Halloween. Here's our little man as Dopey, unfortunately without his Snow White.

Although under the weather, Abby enjoyed some special time with Daddy. She loves to color, especially with her new "magic" markers. (Mommy loves that they don't mark anything but the paper!)

Abby loves to give kisses and talk closely to her brother. So it wasn't long before Ben began with the sniffles. One thing that will always make you feel better when you are sick,is staying in your pj's and having visitors. We had two visitors this week. First, was Aunt Kate. Here's Abby helping her with her homework.

Later in the week, Daddy went to Vegas and Mom Mom came to visit!! We had a great time. On Saturday we went to the YMCA Fall Festival. Abby enjoyed collecting candy, having her face painted, jumping in the moon bounce, getting a butterfly balloon and hula hooping! (A first time)

It was also an exciting day for Ben...his first taste of solids. Rice Cereal..YUMMY!

It's never to late. Apparently not every little girl loves to play dress up.It took awhile, but Mommy and Mom Mom were finally able to get Abby into her Halloween costume. She soon forgot about the itchy skirt and poured some tea for Mom Mom.

Upcoming Events this week: Storytime and Our First Live Elmo Show!

Have a good week!

Hello!

Hi Everyone!
My sister-in-law (Carrie) had started a blog to share her pregnancy experience with friends and family...especially for those living miles away. I thought it was a great idea, and because Abby and Ben aren't able to see everyone they love everyday, we can share our fun through messages, pictures and hopefully some video. Check back weekly. I'll do my best to keep it updated.
So, here's what we've been up to this week.

We spent last week in PA and had a wonderful visit with family. Gordy had his own adventures with a skunk and went to visit the vet on Tuesday when we got home. He has some ulcers on his eyes, but has ointment and is doing much better. One of our weekly chores is doing the laundry. Everyone did their share.

Wednesday was a day of shopping. One of our stops was to PetSmart. Abby LOVES seeing all the fish, gerbils and birds. So, We now have a new member of the family.

Yup, MeMo is Abby's first goldfish. She loves to sit and watch him swim and loves to feed him. Someone else welcomed him to the family.

Another stop was Babies R Us to buy Ben a new exersaucer. Here's his first time checking it out.

We also made it to storytime. Abby loves storytime. She sings, dances and watches puppets. We hope to have a song to share with you soon. : )

Thursday started with a trip to the doctor. Ben's 4 month check up included some shots and since its flu season, Abby got her shot. The Prechtel kids were not happy, but Abby was soon over it as she left with handfuls of stickers and lollipops - Ben was better once he had some cherry flavored Tylenol. After lunch, Abby helped Mommy sprinkle cupcakes for a Halloween treat. (Mommy kept her cool as little jimmies bounced all over the floor).

We hoped you enjoyed our first blog entry. We'd love for you to share messages with us. We've got to go...we are getting ready for trick-or-treating in a few days.

Love,
Karen, Abby and Ben
